Three things are converging between August and November. Del Webb closed on its first three Sun City home sales in February 1996, which makes 2026 the community's 30th anniversary year. The Sun City Texas Community Association and PulteGroup broke ground on The Den, a new 9-hole short course near the White Wing Golf Club, on April 30, 2026, with officials hoping for a November opening. And the fall fair schedule at the Social Center is already tightening, with the Fall Vendor Fair on September 18 marked sold out on the association's own listing.

None of those items would carry a season on its own. Taken together, they compress the fall into a run of dated moments rather than a loose stretch of activity. That is the shift worth planning around.

The Den, and what it changes at White Wing

The Community Association reports that Sun City golfers play roughly 155,000 rounds a year, which averages about 425 rounds a day. Those numbers explain why a shorter course has been in planning for close to seven years. Steve Ashlock, vice president of land development at PulteGroup, told Community Impact the team is aiming for November without rushing the finish.

For residents, the practical read is simpler than the construction timeline suggests:

• The Den sits next to White Wing, which means the Legacy Hills and Cowan Creek courses stay on their normal booking patterns through the fall.
• A 9-hole option changes the math for anyone who has been squeezing 18 holes into a morning. An hour and change becomes a realistic window.
• Groundbreaking-to-opening is a live construction zone. Cart paths and sightlines around White Wing will look different through the fall than they did in the spring.

If November opens on schedule, the anniversary year closes with a fourth on-property course. If it slides, the reason will be quality rather than pace, which is worth knowing before anyone reads a delay as a problem.

Fair season at the Social Center

The Lifestyle and Activities Department hosts several fairs each year, and the fall lineup is the tightest stretch on the calendar. All three are free to attend for residents.

Two things are worth pulling out of that grid. The Vendor Fair selling out this early tells you the fall booth demand is running ahead of the spring pattern. If you were counting on browsing it casually, the plan is now "arrive early and expect a full room" rather than "drop in when convenient." The Health Fair, which typically brings in local nonprofits and area providers, is the one most residents build the rest of their October Friday around. Blocking the morning is a safer bet than assuming a short visit.

• What's Cooking Food Truck Events at Cowan Pavilion. These are the community's easiest evening plan, and the pavilion setting keeps them workable through the shoulder months when the pool decks quiet down.
• Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown. The club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:45 a.m., either in the Sun City Ballroom at 2 Texas Drive or in The Oaks meeting rooms at 301 Del Webb Boulevard, next to the Legacy Golf Club pro shop. The calendar goes dark in December, which makes the fall the last stretch for new visitors before the winter pause.
• The pickleball rotation. With 26 outdoor courts and a Pickleball Club that has grown past 1,000 members, court time is a scheduling exercise more than a search. The club's monthly newsletter, Kitchen Talk, is the fastest read for open-play windows and ladder league sign-ups.

The reason to name the specific rooms matters more than it sounds.
